When they proved their intent to defeat Strahd to the ghost of Lazlo Ulrich, they were shown the way to Marina's tomb, where the Sunsword presented itself to them.Curse of Strahd is a fairly free-form adventure where the characters are drawn into Barovia and must defeat Strahd to escape. Our heroes arrived in the ruins of Berez in search of the Sunsword. She makes armies of scarecrows and sends them forth into the valley to attack Strahd's enemies. On the outskirts of the town resides the enigmatic witch Baba Lysaga. Those who did not die fled, and now Berez is all but a ghost town. When he learned of this, Strahd caused the Luna River river to swell, consuming half the town and turning the the rest into a swamp. However, Lazlo Ulrich took Marina's life to save her from eternal damnation. He lured her out of town and feasted on her blood one night, planning to return and fully turn her into a vampire. Strahd von Zarovich became aware that a peasant girl, Marina, appeared to be a reincarnation of Tatyana. It was located on the Western shores of the Luna River, South of Argynvosthold. Some time ago there was a fourth settlement in the valley of Barovia, the town of Berez.
